They are names
lifeless bodies left for strangers to see on ground bleeding out are now names
on a list growing longer with every tock of the clocks
we are seeing the future in three D
we are the movies that we have watched and turned a blind eye
people tried to tell us and we just kept living
kept buying into a system that pinpoints the poverty stricken and plays minds games
we are walking in mines – we are game –
they are predators and blood is being shed
becoming adornments on sidewalks with teddy bears
our neighborhoods have become cemeteries
Bodies lying lifeless
Eyes stuck in a stare
On the streets they grew up on they are motionless
Ancient tombstones in a modern world
Something needs to stop the power that corrupts
No more mothers need to see their children get massacred
it is a shame the officials sit idly and watch the madness
they are amused in a sick way
this chaos excites them as they pass legislature around and laugh while eating caviar
I don’t know how to process the many women innocently shot and killed next to the long list of men who are deceased
the people are all black of African descent so pay close attention
there is a smell across this nation
a stench of putrid liquids stale in the shining seas
we will need gas masks in the next two years
Armour up so you are untouchable
be of good person to others
for this is the beginning
this is only the beginning of true revolution and freedom
we are witnessing what our parents never thought and our youth want to run away from
we must listen take action

About monalisasrandomthoughts

I craft people poems. I laugh out-loud. I love all things. Everything is about order. My movements are chess. Everything to me calculates. I just look like this.
